Building a resource for black entrepreneurs and rewriting the blueprint for success
The Parnership
In 2020, entrepreneurs from diverse backgrounds encountered unparalleled challenges. From February to April of that year, the U.S. witnessed a steep decline in small business ownership, with 41% of Black, 32% of Latino, and 26% of Asian entrepreneurs ceasing operations, compared to only 17% of White business owners. The COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent economic downturn severely restricted their access to capital and left them with scant dedicated resources.
In collaboration with Mailchimp and Kin, we developed a comprehensive digital guide tailored for entrepreneurs of color, particularly during a period when these businesses were heavily impacted by COVID-19. Drawing from insights gained directly from real entrepreneurs and small businesses, our collective team crafted a unique brand position, identity, and web design, complemented by original photography. This initiative aimed to empower and support these entrepreneurs through informed and thoughtfully designed resources.
